I opened 'Barry Whalen: Funeral Directors', in July, 2013, taking forward my own personal commitment and passion for the profession, with a view to serving the local community and

beyond.

Over the past nine years, I have been entrusted by many families, to arrange and conduct the funerals of their loved ones. I am therefore very proud of my personal reputation within the funeral profession and pride myself in providing that personal touch - stretching far beyond the call of

duty.

My promise is to provide a twenty-four hour, genuine, caring and professional service, taking care of you and your loved one - with the utmost sincerity, dignity and respect. I will ensure full attention to every detail - reassuring you that all aspects of the funeral arrangements, are in safe hands.

Having achieved an Advanced Diploma in Funeral Directing Certificate, I was accepted into the membership of 'The National Association of Funeral Directors', known within the profession as

the 'NAFD'.

The National Association of Funeral Directors was established in 1905 and acts as a

governor to Funeral Directors, such as myself. The National Association of Funeral

Directors, demand high professional standards - and so in order to be accepted and

remain in membership, both me as a funeral director and my funeral home

premises, are assessed against strict criteria. Members of the 'NAFD' are then

required to abide by a stringent Code of Practice and are monitored regularly to

ensure a high quality of service is adhered to and maintained - throughout the Funeral Profession.

Looking back, I often reflect on the many experiences I have gained, throughout my time within the Funeral Profession. Having worked within most communities throughout the Ayrshire and Renfrewshire areas, I can recall the many heartfelt situations in which I have dealt with - at every stage in life. I have therefore no doubt in my mind, that the pain caused by the death of a loved one, is the most traumatic and distressing times in each of our lives.

Whilst I fully appreciate, that the funeral service is an industry that is often placed to the back of people's minds, I can only hope that at some point in the far future, should you ever require the services of a Funeral Director, that you would consider a private, independent company such as myself, committed and dedicated at every stage.

Sincerely yours,

Barry Whalen

BA Man, Adv. Dip. FD
